The center’s design incorporates 18-foot stone columns and trellises that frame the building facades. The columns support concert planter bowls 12-foot in diameter with plantings reminiscent of the vegetation in the nearby San Diego River Valley. This thoughtful use of stone pays tribute to the site's history as a former quarry, giving Fenton Marketplace a rich sense of place and purpose.
